Written by Hyperproof Support
Updated this week

Note: This option pertains to the Hyperproof TPRM product line.

The Auto-Populate feature enables dynamic insertion of values into a column based on different logic types. These values can originate from:

  • A formula - The formula rule displays only for data types that support formulas, such as Number. See Using formulas in auto-populate rules.

  • Default value

  • Another column in the same table

  • A child table column

  • A catalog field

  • A different reference table column

  • Table Lookup

  • Catalog Lookup

  • From Column

Rule configuration

Note: You can configure multiple auto-populate rules for a single column. However, the following guidelines apply:

  • Only one rule can exist without a condition β€” this acts as the default rule.

  • All other rules must include conditions that specify when they should be applied.

  1. Access the table where you want to configure a column rule. See Accessing tables.

  2. Click the Configure button (Gear icon) next to the column.

    The Configure window displays.

  3. Click the Auto Populate tab.

  4. Click + Add Auto-Populate Rule and select a rule type.

    The Auto-Populate Rules window displays.

  5. Configure the rule, then click Save Rule to add it to the list of rules.

  6. To edit an existing rule, click the Edit icon next to the rule on the Configure window.

  7. To delete an existing rule, click the Trash can icon next to the rule on the Configure window.
