Managing proof : Freshness

Hyperproof uses the concept of freshness to manage the status of controls and labels, as well as to track whether they are up-to-date and in compliance with the requirements of the program. When you set the freshness policy on a control or label, you define its expiration period at the end of which its freshness status automatically changes from Fresh to Expired.

The freshness status is displayed throughout Hyperproof, including on program dashboards and work items, and is communicated via email notifications and dashboards (when items are set to expire). Expiration is a signal that you need to revisit your control and reexamine its contents to determine if any linked proof needs to be updated.

💡 Tip

Think of freshness as a reminder, or a countdown. For example, let’s say that you have a particular control activity that needs to be performed every 90 days. By setting the freshness, you’re essentially setting a reminder for yourself (or a team member) to complete that particular control activity before the 90 days are up.
