Attaching an existing Jira issue to a task

The following roles can attach an existing Jira issue to a Hyperproof task:

  • Anyone with manager or contributor permissions on the task

  • Limited access users cannot attach an existing Jira issue to a Hyperproof task



๐Ÿ“ Note

To use Jira with Hyperproof, your Hyperproof administrator must first configure the integration. See Connecting Hyperproof to Jira Cloudand Connecting Hyperproof to Jira Server


  1. Create a new task. If you are unsure of how to create a task, refer to Creating a task. Note that Hyperproof task titles have a 250-character limit.

  2. If this is your first time using the Jira integration, follow the steps below. If youโ€™ve already signed in to Jira in Hyperproof, skip to step 3.

    1. In the right pane of the task, click the Jira integration icon.

      The Authorize app window opens.

    2. Click Accept.

      The Authorize Hyperproof window opens.

    3. Click Allow.

  3. Click the Jira integration icon, then select Attach an existing issue.

  4. Enter keywords or the Jira Issue ID, then press Enter.

  5. Select the issue.

    The Review and confirm window opens.

  6. Click Confirm. Optionally, select the checkbox to prevent Hyperproof from displaying this message in the future.

    The Jira issue is now attached to the task.

Troubleshooting

Unrecognized user error
โ€‹

If you receive an 'unrecognized user error' when assigning a task to a user, it's because that user's Hyperproof profile has not been mapped to their Jira profile. Refer to step 12 in this article.
