👥 Roles and permissions

  • Only administrators can enable an allowlist

📝 Note

This feature is not enabled by default. Contact your Customer Success Manager or Account Manager to learn more.

If they choose, Hyperproof administrators can limit user access to their organization. If you’re a Hyperproof administrator interested in trying it out, please contact the Customer Success team at [email protected].

Follow the steps below to add IP addresses and/or ranges to the allowlist, and to enable the list for your organization.

📝 Note

Azure IP Management Service/Facade is the first level of security to call into Hyperproof. The user must add 40.118.164.90 to their allowed list only if they’re using this service. This applies to any user connecting to Hyperproof’s public API with or without VPN.

You must add your own IP address to the allowlist or risk being locked out of Hyperproof.

If users are accessing Hyperproof through a VPN or other proxy device (NATed IPs), be sure to add the gateway external public IP address of that device.

Adding an IP address or range to the allowlist

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Settings.

  2. Select Security.

  3. Click New.

The Allowed IP Address window opens.

  4. Below IP Address, enter an address or range in CIDR notation.

  5. Optionally, below Description, enter a brief description of the address or range.

  6. Click Save.

The IP address or range is added to the allowlist.

After you’ve entered all IP addresses or ranges, including your own, you must toggle on the Enable Allowed IP List button in order for the list to take effect.

If you try to access Hyperproof and your IP address is not on the allow list, you receive an Access Denied error when you attempt to log in to Hyperproof.

Editing an IP address or range

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Settings.

  2. Select Security.

  3. Locate the IP address or range you want to edit, and then click Edit.

  4. Make any necessary changes, and then click Save.

Deleting an IP address or range

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Settings.

  2. Select Security.

  3. Locate the IP address or range you want to delete, and then click Delete.

    📝 Note

You’ll receive a warning if you attempt to delete your IP address. Additionally, you’ll receive a warning if you enable the allowlist with settings that exclude the current user.

The Delete Allowed IP Address window opens.

  4. Click Delete permanently.

    📝 Note

Your organization can end up in an unstable state if you delete yourself from the allowlist. If this occurs, create a support request.

The IP address or range is permanently deleted from the organization.
